I am Eastern European, a personal fitness trainer, model, and aspiring actress from Pennsylvania. I have appeared in many films, shorts, videos, advertisements, commercial prints and TV Series like Goodbye to Me, Damned if I Do, Nightwing: Escalation, Unfaithful: Stories of Betrayal, How do you know, and For Blood or Justice, a horrific thriller.
Acting is a part of my soul and character and being a correspondent with Image for the College Life magazine has helped me perfect my acting skills and become more confident in front of the camera. I believe that you should perfect your craft, work hard and be passionate about your career and I hope to bring this same attitude across to our college viewers and readers. Letting them know that determination and passion does payoff and never limit your abilities.
I also have a passion for being a DJ, singer, and fitness fanatic and club/hip hop dancer. Because of all the skills I have acquired during my tenure of my career, this has made me versatile and I wouldn't change my experiences. So go out and do theater, voice overs, film, music videos, movie shorts and TV series or commercials because each experience becomes a permanent tool of improvement.
I was born in Jamaica, Queens and moved to Brooklyn when I was 12. Now residing in Jersey City, I've always been a very outgoing person and love to joke around and brighten up the people around me. I have a very high sense in fashion and such a diverse background: Im African American and Panamanian. I grew a love for different styles and trends.
With the knowledge I obtained in College, I started to help struggling people in my field find their way and that's one of the reasons I joined Image for the College Life magazine. It is amazing how far your love for something takes you. From partying, to modeling for top designer clothing stores and interviewing new company's that are looking for help is amazing.
I also grew a passion for computers and designing flyers. In my spare time, I love to relax at home and design new flyers. I also love traveling and in visiting Orlando, Florida, I hope this is a place where I soon plan to move.
Working in the magazine s a definite plus when it comes to just letting loose, being yourself and giving back to your community. It means alot to me that my friends and family support every project I've been a part of and that feeling of support; I love them for that.
This experience of being involved with such great people while working for Image For The College Life has been an adventure and learning experience. The people we interview, the things I and the people watching and reading have learned has to help many people getting a job.
Good luck in everything you do and I hope this website helps you with all the information you need to get there. The sky is the limit and you can do whatever you want to if you put your mind into it. Thanks for the support and keep watching.
Lorraine is a Argentinean and Dominican actress, model and brand ambassador born and raised in the Bronx. Graduated from Dowling College in Oakdale, NY with a Bachelors of Science in Sports Management.
Lorraine started dancing at the age of 8 years old at the Bronx Dance Theater. When she was 10 years old she broke her ankle and lost her opportunity to study at the Bronx Dance Academy. She continued to study dance from hip-hop, ballet, jazz, salsa, gymnastics and cheerleading.
While attending high school, she was introduced to acting where she found a new outlook to express herself. She attended Southampton College and joined a group called The Southampton Players where they traveled throughout Long Island performing skits. Soon after Southampton College closed she attended Dowling College where she continued her love for the arts and worked as a stand in for a PBS show.
After graduating Dowling College, Lorraine worked part time for the NY Liberty Women's Basketball team. After working a year with them and not successfully landing a full time position, she decided to make a change in careers and work in the health care industry. After investing four years in health care, she was lacking a certain fulfillment. It was then she found herself in the entertainment business. She has appeared in music videos for artist like Meek Mills and Taylor Russell. Modeled for the New Jersey Nets Basketball team and walked for designers during fashion week.
Lorraine is currently working on becoming a personal fitness trainer and educating individuals on the importance of staying fit and eating healthy with Image for the College Life Magazine, a not for profit company, where she continues to utilize her acting skills while reporting on various careers for college students. She's attended many events and is happy for the experience as she gets to meet people from all walks of life. She has a great appreciation for the mission of the magazine and giving back to her peers in the arts.
I have always been interested in being a well-rounded experienced Russian and American actress pushing myself to extremes. I attended Midwood High School where I first got my exposure to acting, singing and dance. I was also very much into sports and was the captain of my lacrosse team. Since then, I have been attending Brooklyn College and perform with the precision Dance team. Most of my free time I do yoga, study in the craft of acting and take dance courses where ever possible in the City. One of my favorite dance studios was the DNA dance studio which unfortunately shut its doors. I practice various types of choreography like jazz, tap, hip hop and contemporary.
Some of my first television experiences were splaying an extra in a comedy skit on the Chapelle Show, being interviewed about my high school lacrosse team and an aired viewing of my school's varsity game on MSG "Midwood versus Madison". I have also appeared in several music videos like O&S "VIP", Young Deon "Blabber Mouth" and Kurt Dumas' "Shut It Down".
When I am not dancing, acting, modeling or volunteering, I am a personal assistant for an occupational therapist, which I find very rewarding.
My Name Is Julissa Rodriguez. I am a college student at Hostos Community College in New York City studying dental hygiene but I am also an inspired upcoming model.
Each day I seek to enhance and improve my modeling, acting and communication skills. I take my modeling career seriously and only work with those who carry themselves professionally on all levels within this industry. I have been featured in fashion shows and have even been behind the scenes working with filming. This is what drew me to acting.
I feel the best part of this industry is that you can never stop learning. I believe the moment we stop learning , we start dying creatively. Meeting new people is also a great benefit in the industry because they can introduce you to new and different
things which sparks more chances for me everyday to grow as an individual and take my career to the next level.
I really enjoy working with Image for the College Life magazine as a correspondent because it embraces all of the things that are important to me and I get the opportunity to help others like myself who are in school searching for their career and want to improve their skills, experience and career. Finally I can also inspire my Latinos to do positive things everyday.
I was born and raised in Manila, Philippines before I moved to New York City when I was 17. What I love about being Filipino is just like the majority of us, I am part Spanish and Chinese, and I am very proud of this diversity. I am currently majoring in Biology with intentions of pursuing Dentistry. I've been trained in Classical Ballet for 12 years, and I have a great appreciation for performing arts. I had my fair share of participating in school plays and productions, taking both leading and supporting roles, as well as working the backstage. My favorite sport is volleyball, and I can be found rollerblading along the Hudson River Park on beautiful summer days.
Despite my busy schoolwork, I always find time to do the one thing I love most, and that is to travel. Since I was 7 years old (the first time I traveled) until now, I still have not gotten over my case of wanderlust. I believe that the most important lessons are learned when exploring the world because it makes a person think with an open mind and it makes them know the true meaning of compassion. I have a different outlook and understanding of life because of the experiences I've had traveling. I am the author of Wanderlustry.com, an online journal where I keep a record of my adventures in different cities and countries. Keeping this blog is my way to inspire people around me to travel more, and to motivate myself in pursuing my dreams of becoming a dentist so that one day I can see the rest of the world, volunteer and offer my services free of charge in underdeveloped countries.
I am also an adrenaline junkie, a thrill seeker and an exotic animal lover. I will do things most people will not do like swimming with dolphins and sharks in the wild. I walked tigers, rode an elephant, jumped off the highest commercial bungee in the world, ate kangaroo meat and went cliff diving to name a few. I am all about learning new things, meeting people and knowing them, and making a positive impact on a person's life in any possible way I can.
I love being a part of the Broadcasting team of Image for the College Life Magazine because working for them not only gives me the satisfaction of being able to serve the community, but it also provides me the opportunity to gain new experiences, meet all sorts of people from different classes and races, leave all prejudice behind and to touch other people's lives even with just the little things. Through the magazine, I intend to share all the helpful information I know, will know, and use all the knowledge I gain from my time for the benefit of those around me. Growing up, I always believed in paying it forward, and being part of the magazine places me in a situation where I can gladly practice this principle.
